Wallpaper Adhesive

Paste-the-Wall 

Specific wallpapers are hung by pasting the wall instead of the back of the paper. For paste-the-wall papers such as this, you’ll need to use a specialist paste-the-wall adhesive which can be applied directly to the wall.  

Ready Mixed 

Ready-mixed wallpaper adhesives are perfect for first-time decorators as they come ready to use without the need to mix to the right consistency yourself. Ready-mixed pastes typically utilise vinyl-based formulas which means they don’t doesn’t set or dry out in the tub until exposed to air.  

Heavy Duty/Extra Strong 

Designed to provide stronger, longer-lasting adhesion than typical standard pastes, heavy-duty adhesives are ideal for hanging heavy-weighted wallpapers that require an additional degree of grip to stick. 

These extra strong adhesives dry very quickly in order to avoid the thicker paper from peeling back off before the paste has begun to set. This can make the paper pretty hard to remove once stuck, so make sure you are confident in the placement and positioning before hanging.   

All-Purpose 

Available in both power and ready mixed forms, all-purpose wallpaper adhesives have been expertly developed for use with virtually any type of wallpaper. These multi-use pastes are a practical and cost-effective option for any avid decorator looking to work with a variety of different paper types or those working on a multi-room project. 

As many all-purpose pastes contain mould-preventative fungicides, they are also safe for papering damp or moisture-prone rooms such as the kitchen or bathroom (always make sure your chosen adhesive contains fungicides before applying in these areas).    

Cold Water Paste 

Cold water pastes generally come in powder form and require mixing with cold water to reach the correct consistency. They are suitable for most types of wallpaper and can be mixed to varying levels of strength depending on the weight and thickness of your specific paper type. As cold water adhesive is water-soluble, it is also very easy to remove plus is slower-drying so can be easily repositioned until you are happy with the placement.
