Electric screwdrivers are similar to drills, only designed to allow you to insert your screws into holes rather than making the holes themselves. Electric screwdrivers are some of the easier power tools to use, which has made them incredibly popular among DIY enthusiasts as well as on work sites. To this end, a wide range has been made available including more powerful 18V models.
As the name suggests, the electric screwdriver are powered by electricity. The vast majority are cordless and run on batteries and charges. However, there are some that are corded – these offer a more limited range but are ideal for longer projects, where more power and longer performance times are needed. Alternatively, you could purchase multiple battery packs and have charged backups on standby for when your current one runs out.
Some electric screwdrivers resemble larger versions of regular screwdrivers, while others resemble – and in some cases, can be used as – power drills. They vary widely in price depending on size, the number of attachments provided, the versatility, and the power of the model in question. Be sure to check manufacturer site pages, product descriptions and technical data sheets to ensure that you’re getting the right electric screwdriver for you.
