Tiles aren’t just meant for the floor; they also make an elegant and highly practical addition to your bathroom walls too. Liquid and walls don’t really mix well together. There is no nightmare like walking into your bathroom and finding a huge water stain on your white-painted walls or discovering peeling wallpaper caused by condensation. This is where bathroom wall tiles come in.
As well as just looking absolutely stunning, wall tiles also provide fantastic, water-resistant protection for your walls so you can actually enjoy your bathroom minus the stress. So, where should wall tiles be used?
The possibilities are endless design-wise, although there are a few practical spots where your bathroom will really benefit from a wall tile set-up. A good starting point is thinking about every possible splash zone within the bathroom space. Bathroom wall tiles surrounding shower areas, baths, sinks and bidets will help to protect your walls from all accidental splashes with easy wipe-away cleaning should any bathroom products find their way up the wall too.
Some homeowners love the appearance of a completely tiled bathroom, however, if you find that it looks a little too intense for your taste and would prefer a mix of paint and tiles, you can limit your wall tile use to water-exposed areas.
For those who enjoy the aesthetic of tiles but don’t want the entire bathroom covered, perhaps consider laying to the midpoint of your wall and leaving the top half free for a neutral paint colour. Maybe even create a decorative feature wall perhaps behind sink cabinets or a stand-alone bath to inject a little more personality into the room.
