All hobs are designed to heat your food effectively, but some offer other benefits and features. It could be argued, for example, that there is a particular practicality that comes from the ceramic hob. Like the induction hob, ceramic hobs don’t necessarily need to be directly connected to an oven to function, although in the majority of kitchen layouts in which they feature you will find them either attached or located directly above the oven.

Ceramic hobs are much more modern in their appearance than some alternatives such as gas hobs, and as such they look right at home in new builds, apartments, and other more recent constructions. They come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, offering anywhere from 2 rings to 10+, depending on the size of the model. Power levels also vary considerably, and you will need to consider this when purchasing your hob.

These hobs boast a number of benefits not found in alternative hob types. One of the most appealing features is the ease of maintenance – these hobs possess a flat surface that can be wiped down quickly without hassle. A number of cleaning solutions can also be used on the hob without issue, though you should always check individual products to ensure that they can be safely utilised on your hob before applying them, and never clean or touch your hob while it is powered.
