Vertical radiators look a lot like tall, thin versions of central heating radiators. Vertical radiators are ideal for rooms where there is not a lot of space vertically, though it should be noted that they do require plenty of height, with some models being a lot taller than the average person.

Not only are vertical radiators great for optimizing room space, but they can actually be quite the attractive focal point when styled right. A grey, flat panel radiator would look great in a modern apartment or studio whilst a white rounded bar model could fit snugly into the corner of a fun, retro kitchen, coordinating stylishly with a monochrome colour scheme.

These radiators can be installed in both traditional and modern homes. There is a fair bit of visual variation amongst models and brands, though the most common appearance is certainly the classic white style with rounded columns.

These radiators – given their size and shape – can be notably tricky to install, and the process will almost certainly need to be completed by an established professional. Like other central heating radiators, certain vertical radiators will need to be connected to your pipe system in order to function and getting this procedure wrong can prove problematic – even disastrous – for your water pipes, your radiator, and even your home. Therefore, getting an expert to assist should be a priority. You can also purchase electric vertical radiators, which will likely prove considerably easier to install, but due to their proportions, you may still require assistance.
