The first and one of the most important accessories to keep in mind when building your decking, decking pedestals help ensure a stable, secure and, most importantly, level base. To this end, many of our pedestals are self-levelling, designed to help tackle a much wider range of un-level ground surfaces when building decking or even laying new paving.
Despite how versatile decking pedestals are, the headpieces are very easy to adjustable making them a particularly ideal choice for DIY installations. This by no means makes them a more fragile option than traditional decking bases, in fact, they are a popular option by professional installers as well.
The best part, however, is that pedestals do not require any mechanical fixing. Once adjusted to the correct height, the weight of the decking on top of them with secure them in place. The free space created beneath them is also more than adequate for drainage and ventilation.
