Breathable Membranes

Breathable membranes are specifically designed to encourage air ventilation, with their unique builds allowing for them to pass through them and keep flowing around your roof. This prevents the air within your roof from becoming trapped and stagnating, which can lead to additional troubles for your roof as well as your living space in general. Breathable membranes are crucial for most pitched roof layouts – they are not suitable for use on flat roofs.

Breathable roofing membranes are similar to vapour control layers in that they both help to tackle condensation within your roof. The main difference is that breather membranes are positioned on the outer side of your insulation layers. This allows vapour to escape from within the building. At the same time, the membrane is able to repel any water that attempts to enter your building, preventing it from building up on the inside.
