An essential for every bathroom, your taps need not be just functional. Our huge range of basin taps touches on every style imaginable. Whether your bathroom is traditional, ultra-modern, rustic, or something in-between, we’ll have the tap you’re looking for.

As with any type of tap, form follows function. But this doesn’t limit the amount of styles available for you to choose from. Quite the opposite, the choices open to you are incredible, allowing you to combine practicality and style easily.

A Tap to Suit Every Basin

The first thing to determine which taps you can choose from is to take note of the number of holes in your basin. This will help to narrow down your list of choices and will usually be either one or two holes.

The style of the basin will also further refine your choices. For shallow basins, you may want to steer clear of taps with long spouts because they will cause significant splashes and be sure to read product descriptions carefully to ensure you don’t accidentally order bath taps.

Another thing to bear in mind is the thread size of the hole. Ensure you have the correct connector type and size before you purchase your tap. If you’re unsure which tap on our site will fit, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll be able to point you in the right direction.

Regardless, there are taps available for any type of basin, all are available in a wide range of styles that will fit in with any bathroom furniture and aesthetic you require.

Advantages of Different Tap Types

Monobloc taps can either have separate mixer taps or provide a single lever from which to control the power of water flow and its temperature. The advantages of this design are obvious and it is by far the most widely used tap in modern times.

Pillar taps are a little old-fashioned now but at one time were the most common type of tap you were likely to see in bathrooms. Less control over the temperature but you can also get varying spout lengths and styles. It’s a simple matter of preference for those with two holes in their bathroom basin though this type of tap will definitely give you a more traditional look.

Wall-mounted basin taps give you a very clean and modern look allowing the tap to blend into the wall. Wall-mounted units will usually be mixer taps and require installation by a plumber due to their complexity. When needing maintenance they are also harder to access because they are inside the wall.

Basin taps at a glance

  • Mixer taps – single lever tap or two separate taps, more temperature and flow control.
  • Pillar taps – separate taps, more traditional, lack subtle temperature control.
  • Wall-mounted – more difficult to maintain, more stylish and better for saving space.
